37. IRISH DRAUGHT MARES, open to Class 1 and Class 2 mares, 3 or 4 years old with or without foal at foot.
(3 year old Irish Draught mares that are eligible for, but have not yet undergone inspection for classification in the Irish Draught Horse Studbook, are also eligible for this class.) |

38. IRISH DRAUGHT MARES, open to Class 1 and Class 2 mares, 5 years old or over with foal at foot.

39. COLT FOAL, progeny of mares in Classes 37 or 38, and eligible for inclusion in the Class 1 Irish Draught classification system on inspection.

|
40. FILLY FOAL, progeny of mares in Classes 37 or 38, and eligible for inclusion in the Class 1 Irish Draught classification system on inspection.

|
41. FOALS (colt or filly), progeny of mares entered in Classes 37 or 38, but NOT eligible for classes 39 or 40.

Aim
To showcase the finest examples of Irish Draughts in the country, and give Irish Draught breeders and enthusiasts the opportunity to compare their produce and help them determine best practice in their breeding enterprise.

Entry Fee
RDS Members: €250 each entry; Non-Members: €290 each entry.
There is no separate entry fee for foals; it is covered under the mare's entry fee.

Rules
These classes may be limited to a maximum of 20 primary entries per class. In the event of a limitation the first 20 correct primary entries received, and paid for, will secure entry. Please note there may be additional secondary entries in the above classes.
Prize money for stinted mares will be held until evidence is provided that the mare has produced a foal within 11 months from the last day of the Show or until a veterinary certificate is furnished stating that the mare has prematurely aborted a foal.
Mares entered in Classes 37 and 38 may be entered in the Ridden Hunter Classes provided they are eligible.
All foals must be shown with their dam.

Cups & Trophies
Cup No. 100 – The “Eileen Parkhill” Perpetual Champion Trophy for the Champion Irish Draught Mare.
Cup No. 165 – Perpetual Challenge Trophy for the Best Irish Draught Foal. The first and second prize-winners in Classes 39 and 40 will compete for this Trophy.

Parade
Champion and Reserve Champion are required to participate in the Parade of Champions on Friday 16 August. Further details are available here.
