Aim
To showcase a selection of Irish Draught Stallions available to breeders and give breeders the opportunity to see the stallions side by side and determine which will prove the most suitable cross for their individual mare.

Entry Fee
RDS Members: €300 each entry; Non-Members: €340 each entry.

Rules
Stallions should be appropriately tacked with an in-hand bridle with a bit and a leather lead shank of a minimum length of 12ft.
Double bridles are not permitted.

Awards & Prizes
Class 42;
1st €1,800, 2nd €1,200, 3rd €800, 4th €600, 5th €400, 6th €300, 7th €200, 8th €200
A Special Breeders' Prize of €200 will be presented to the breeder of the winning stallion in the Irish Draught Stallion Championship.

Parade
There will be a parade of stallions at the 2026 Dublin Horse Show. This parade will take place on Thursday 6 August. It is compulsory for Irish Draught stallions to participate in this parade. Further details are available here.
Judging of Irish Draught stallions will take place on Friday 7 August.
NB: The rules and conditions for each class and competition as published in the current year's RDS Dublin Horse Show Competition Schedule are complete, final and binding. All exhibitors must read the current year's Schedule when entering for a class or qualifier. No other version of the class detail or rules are considered official.
